Who are we?
We are a volleyball club open to all girls in Whatcom County. Our goal is to improve the individual athlete, assist in educating on all things volleyball, while creating competitive teams in Whatcom County.
Who are the Directors?
Diane Flick-Williams - Diane is the coaching director. She mentors all of our coaches and is in charge of communication with parents. Diane has been coaching volleyball for over 20 years and is the head coach at Western Washington University.
Sara Bernardy - Sara is the administrative director. She is in charge of scheduling practices, tournaments, and verifying USAV/PSR compliance. This will be Sara's 8th season as a club director. Previously she directed Meridian VBC.
How many teams do we have?
This season we will have teams at U12-U14 age groups. Amount of teams TBD by tryouts.
Will playing time be equal?
We will not guarantee playing time for anyone, however, our goal is to be competitive with as many girls playing as possible. We do guarantee that all girls who have been at practice will play in the tournaments, but the playing time will not be equal.
How many tournaments are we doing? How long is the season?
Our plan for the younger teams is to have them in 5 - 7 tournaments depending on availability.
Our older teams will be 6 - 8 tournaments depending on availability.
All teams will compete in the two-day regional championship in Seattle at the end of the season.
We will be deciding about power league based on teams. If we have an age group that can compete at the power league tournaments we will enter them. Otherwise, we will do other tournaments in the area.
The season begins the first of January and concludes at the end of April/beginning of May.
When and where are tryouts?
Tryouts for the 2017-18 U12 - U14 teams will be 10/28 at Meridian High School. See homepage for details.
